Refusal

Refusal is the second in a series of 5 AP Portfolio works. Refusal is meant to represent the feeling of oppressive forced conformity. In the artwork, the girl is refusing to hand over the last traces of what makes her happy, although it will be taken from her eventually, as shown in a later work. This work also represents being terrified of growing up, as our childhoods are oftentimes snatched away from us prematurely.
